What are Galvanized Iron Pipes?

Pipe are made of solid steel and can come in any forms. Generally, pipes are used for transferring oil, water, gas, and other liquid substances. Steel is prone to rust, and rust can be easily caused by the iron in steel reacting with oxygen and water which will lead to the object deteriorating.

With zinc coating, it is harder for these elements to cause such reactions. Steel pipes are dipped into zinc that will aid in preventing rust and corrosion. After dipping the pipe in the heated zinc, the area will have a silver-grey finish on the surface. These pipes are called galvanized iron pipes or GI Pipes.

The advantages of hot dipped galvanized iron pipes are a longer service life and a uniform surface aesthetic.
